Why do you feel regular walking is so important?
Walking your dog is important, but walking your dog properly is even more important. Your dog wants a leader on his/her walks, so the he/she can relax and burn off excess energy and anxiety. If a dog is worried about leading the walk, it won’t relax. It’s similar to when we want to just exercise and let our mind wander, thinking of nothing in particular.
I have seen it over and over again — consistent dog walks will cut down on unwanted behaviors around your house, and make your dog’s overall demeanor improve.
To see endless examples of this, go to www.cesarmillaninc.com, and watch video clips of ‘The Dog Whisperer’ on the National Geographic Channel. It will make a believer out of you regarding dog walks.
How do you feel about spaying or neutering pets?
In my opinion, it is essential. By spaying or neutering your pet, you are being a responsible citizen, if nothing else. There really is no good excuse to avoid it. Here is a great link from the ASPCA on why to fix your dog’s plumbing. There is even a link to find low-cost spay/neuter services in the area.
It is a fact that spaying and neutering extends your dog’s life, and cuts down on aggression and territorial behavior.
It is also vital to the battle of pet overpopulation. The HSUS estimates that animal shelters care for 6-8 million dogs and cats every year in the United States, of whom approximately 3-4 million are euthanized. These are terrible numbers, but consider in the 1970s, American shelters euthanized 12-20 million dogs and cats, at a time when there were 67 million pets in homes. Today, shelters euthanize around 3-4 million animals, while there are more than 135 million dogs and cats in homes. That’s progress, but we still have a long way to go.
What areas do you cover for dog walking and pet sitting?
In general, the Flower Mound, Argyle, and Highland Village area. In order to provide consistent and expedient service, it is important to stay in a relatively small geographical area. If you have questions or need recommendations, however, feel free to call.
Do you care for just dogs, or for cats and other pets, too?
Most of our clients are dogs, but of course we will care for your other pets. We love ‘em when you leave ‘em.
What is your purpose when providing this service?
Well, it’s easy to say we do it because we love animals, and that is true. We have to make a living to pay the bills as well. But as the owner, my overwhelming desire is to educate the public about providing a happy home for pets, controlling the pet population, and encouraging animal lovers to support and adopt homeless pets from the local agencies.
Best Friend’s Animal Society, perhaps the largest rescue organization in the world, has a motto of ‘No More Homeless Pets.’ It’s a lofty goal, but it’s one to which we can all contribute. By just by doing a few small things in our communities, we can have a real, substantial impact on the problem of companion animal overpopulation.

How do I know my home and my pets will be cared for responsibly?
This is certainly a good question. Turning over the key to your home, and the care of your pets, is a big decision.
My first answer would be this — I am your neighbor. I live in this community, and I insist that your home and your pets are safe. It is good for all of us.
Also, prior to the service, your representative will meet with you and go over all your questions and concerns. This way, you will know exactly who is coming to your home. You will also have access to our location, cell numbers, and all other vital information so we can be reached at any time. We can provide daily updates on our visits, and will often send you texts and /or photographs to let you know everything has been handled properly.
Also, we are insured and bonded for your peace of mind.
